When I was in high school I wanted to be a fire fighter when I grew up. Which is funny, considering I am deathly afraid of fire anywhere near my head, and I don’t have a hero complex. I think I mostly wanted to be around hot boys all of the time.
Then I joined the school newspaper and I wanted to be an editor. Now my dreams have gradually morphed through work experience, and I have decided I want to be a graphic designer when I grow up. Maybe. Wait, I am grown up now. Crap.
Maybe it would be better if I resorted back to my 6 year old mind, when I wanted to be a Killer Whale when I grew up. Now THIS is a goal I can attain.
So, now that I have no job, I have had ample time to reflect on what I ACTUALLY want to be when I grow up. For the last couple of weeks I have been subconsciously making a “list of demands” for my dream job :
1. I can come in to and leave work whenever I want.
2. I can live anywhere in the world and keep the same job.
3. I am paid well enough to live a comfortable life.
The verdict: I want to be a freelance bum when I grow up.
Maybe SeaWorld is hiring.
